![]() As soon as we got off the boat I recognized the town from Pintrest. Our last and final village was one of my favorites. As we drove by the coast our legs ached looking at how far we actually hiked (it was sooo far!) but it was beautiful to get one last look at all the brightly painted villages. I really have no idea why or what was in it, but it was soooooo incredible!Īfter filling up on cake, we took a boat from the fifth village back to the first. Cake?! Yum! Well in America we would call this cake more of a pie, but it was the most delicious chocolate cake I have ever tasted. In the fifth village our tour guide recommended that we try this little shop’s chocolate cake. I love nothing more than a hot summer day or swimming in the ocean, so it was the perfect reminder of home.įrom the fourth village, we took a train to the fifth village. When we finally arrived in the fourth village, we immediately jumped into the ocean. During the hike we kept stopping to look at the views and kept having to tell ourselves, “Oh my god, we are in Italy.” It was just so beautiful and our hearts were so happy that it was hard to take it all in. I tried to take some pictures, but really they don’t do it justice. But it took us to some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. It was half up hill and the whole thing was in the beating sun. So next was my favorite part, with our bellies full, Kim, Sierra, and I hiked about 3 miles from the third village to the fourth. But anywho, Sierra is super passionate about living in the moment and being present and I couldn’t be more thankful to have had her with us in Cinque Terre and Florence. I like Sierra’s name so we are actually going to stick with calling her Sierra. Also on this day trip we met a new friend, Sierra from Virginia. Kim is one of the kindest and most down to earth person I have ever met and is the perfect addition to our travel group. Sidenote… I forgot to tell you… Kim, one of our friends who we met in our Granada Program has now joined us for Florence, Cinque Terre, and Rome. The pasta was delicious and the view was even better. In the third village we enjoyed a delicious homemade pesto pasta lunch overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It was very unfortunate, but I am still walking and my pink lulus now had a nice little green green accent on the bum.Īfter struggling through the village, we loaded into a train for a quick trip to the third village. We arrived first, in the 2 nd village where we explored the village and of course I managed to slip and fall in the mud in the first five minutes. The bus ride to Cinque Terre is about 2 hours from Florence and is a coastal town that consists of five villages on the cliffs. It was incredible!!! It started at 8 am when we loaded up a bus of about 40 people, yes I was lowkey freaking out when I saw the amount of people, but they did an awesome job at keeping the tour moving and interesting. ![]() We booked through Florence Walking Tours and 12/10 would recommend. ![]() So this was one of my favorite, if not my favorite day of my entire trip! On our first full day in Florence, we decided to take a day trip to Cinque Terre.
